Launches ACA/Medicaid Expansion Campaign
The linked Save Our Selves Movement Expand Medicaid Petition is for you to sign and to gather signatures from hundreds of others. Our goal is 10,000 signatures to push Governor Bentley to use his power to provide medical coverage to 200,000 people in the state of Alabama that fall into the “coverage gap” between Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act, of whom 152,000 are working and yet have no medical coverage.
People need to speak their wishes to elected officials, letting them know what they want. Medicaid Expansion is one of many key issues, but the timing gives it a particular urgency. The lack of understanding on the part of the public about the Affordable Health Care Law and the significance of Medicaid Expansion leave people deprived of information about what is in their best interest.
Recruit and rally participants through presentations across the State: Churches, festivals, town halls, conferences, community events, salons and barber shops.This campaign will also educate and inform the people of Alabama about the changes that are taking place, the impact on their lives and what they can do to make a difference.
Governor Bentley do the right thing. Expand Medicaid and insure health care to over 200,000 Alabamians, including 152,000 who are working and still have no medical coverage.
