Over 14,000 signatures were collected for the rally that was held on the Capital steps on May 31, 2014. Supporters gathered in solidarity to demand that our Governor expand Medicaid that would help provide healthcare for over 300,000 Alabamians. Several speakers, including Callie Greer, spoke on the “personal impact” of the effects of non-Medicaid expansion. Ms. Greer told supporters how healthcare could have saved her daughter’s life, and that she did not want another parent to have to experience a loss as she had.00 Alabamians. Governor Bentley was not at the rally and refused to send a representative, however, Senator Hank Sanders will make certain that the petitions are delivered to him.
